Who We Are
At The First Run Foundation, we believe that no kid should ever be turned away simply because they cannot afford to pay. In order to fill this void we were established for the charitable purpose of providing children of ALL ages, gender, race, creed, and economic background access to FREE Baseball Camp instruction and Education.
These camps are designed for kids of all skill levels from beginners with little to no experience with the sport, intermediate, and experienced. Thanks to generous donations, each child is not required to bring or have any equipment of their own. Equipment will be provided if needed. In addition, each camper will receive a Free Camp T-shirt, Hat and Glove (Pants & Cleats based on Pre-Registration/ Sizes) Campers will also have the opportunity to win other Prizes/Equipment.
What We Do

— We Find & Fund
The First Run Foundation Camps are and ALWAYS will be FREE FOR ALL to ATTEND. No equipment or experience is required. Everything needed for the camp will be provided and taught.

— We Provide Care
We use sports as a practice field and classroom to learn hands on about life. Kids will learn to develop and hone critical life skills such as teamwork, leadership, self-confidence, discipline, and coping skills to handle and persevere through adversity not just in sports, but the game of life. These life lessons will begin to manifest its self in success in the classroom, field, and at home.

— We Educate & Teach
We teach it’s not a right, but a privilege to be a student-athlete. Therefore, the student must always come first. Eventually, your athletic abilities and career will come to an end, regardless of your name and talent. Therefore, it is necessary that a coach/teacher instill the importance of a degree, dreams, and aspirations. Otherwise, they have failed.

We believe that no one rises to low expectations. The greatest teachers, leaders, and coaches have a powerful ability to see what most others cannot. What these leaders possess is vision and not just sight. They have the ability to see someone not for what they are today, but what they could ultimately become. We aim to always encourage, uplift and provide a voice of confidence. Nothing is impossible if you’re willing to work and fight for it.

— We Strengthen
Alone we are only capable of doing so little, but together we can achieve so much. In the end we are all just human. We hurt, love, and bleed the same color. In these dark times we aim to become the light and build from the inside out. We ALL have no control of who, when and where we grow up, or the color of our skin. At The First Run Foundation we believe that light shines the brightest in times of darkness and darkness cannot exist in the presence of light.

— We Build Relationships
Feeling a part of a team gives you a sense of purpose and belonging. Sports have a unique ability of bringing people together from all avenues and walks of life in pursuit of something much larger. Athletics can be used as a tool to help us enhance our relationship skills and find one’s own voice. These experiences have a profound impact on not only physical health, but mental as well. These new-found social skills are critical in the ability to find and build healthy relationships the rest of life.
